SHARING ONE HOME CAN CHANGE TWO LIVES ON OʻAHU
Hawaiʻi Intergenerational Network (HIN) is growing the first full service Homesharing Hawaiʻi program on Oʻahu, and meeting with individuals and groups to talk together about how the program can work best in our community.

In Hawai'i we know relationships and connections are key to healthy lives.  Homesharing increases health and wellness by offering a new way to keep us connected, inspire others, share knowledge and skills across generations and end isolation. Home sharing is a way to support safe aging at home, and offer a community-based solution to provide more affordable housing opportunities.

WHAT IS HOME SHARING?
HIN's Homesharing Hawaiʻi helps match individuals seeking housing with people who have a room to rent in exchange for for an affordable dollar amount to help with living expenses or help with household chores or some combination.

Homesharing Hawai'i receives applications from home owners and home seekers who want to participate in home sharing, conducts background checks, interviews home owners and home seekers to find compatible home sharing matches, assists with introductions, and offers a sample agreement.  HIN's Homesharing Hawai'i provides a quarterly follow-up call for one year after home sharing matches begin home sharing together.  Home owners and home seekers choose whether or not to participate at each step of the process.  HIN's Homesharing Hawai'i provides a quarterly follow-up call for one year after home sharing  matches begin home sharing together.
